Shoots Himself
M. T. Caswell, an old and respected resident of Grand Forks, shot himself to the toilet room of the Hotel Dacotah shortly after noon Wednesday, and is now at the point of death with recovery out of the question. Bismarck Daily Tribune Friday December 29, 1905

Straw Not Stolen
The story that Hatton Johnson had stolen a load or straw and was arrested therefor is untrue as to the net of stealing. Some time ago W. E.  Alexander, manager for Vic Chaffee, purchased a rack of straw from E.  P. Cross and T. A. Reese, the complaining witness against Johnson, purchased another rack from the same man. Johnson who was employed by Mr. Alexander, was sent out to the farm to bring in a load of straw and by mistake took It from the wrong rack. A warrant was sworn out by Mr. Reese charging him with the larceny of the straw, and the case was dismissed upon the hearing and the complaining witness compelled to pay the costs amounting to nearly $12.  The Evening Times Grand Forks, ND November 28, 1906
