Mr. Loenshing, residing six miles northeast of Balfour committed suicide by shooting himself through the head with a rifle. He was 58 years old and leaves a wife and four children. He came from Sauk Center,  Minn., a year ago. Loenshing was prosperous, but cancer of the lip made him desperate. Jamestown Weekly Alert September 20, 1900

Anamoose. — Because physicians were able to drill through his skull and remove a blood clot that threatened life.  A. Braunberger will not have to face a charge of killing George Helm. The two men became involved in a quarrel and Braunberger was accused of striking Helm over the head with a gas pipe. Both are farmers. The Ward County Independent November 21, 1912
