Grand Forks Herald: Judge W. J.  Kneeshaw, Pembina, was in the city last night on, his way to Langdon, where he will remain two days trying a number of court cases. He closed a term of court at Pembina yesterday and sentenced Joseph Venne, charged with, stealing wheat, to three years in the penitentiary. A younger man of the same name and a relative was given a suspended sentence. L. Laducou and Andrew Nisbet, also convicted of stealing wheat, were sentenced to one year each in the penitentiary. Mitter Mihjousks, convicted of stealing a team of horses at Bathgate, was sentenced to three years in the penitentiary. Bismarck Daily Tribune Friday December 29, 1905

County News of Pembina

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Koch of Crystal last week.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Schulz of Crystal last week.

The infant daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Walker of Cavalier died last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Fisher of Hoople are the happy parents of a little son.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Slater of Cavalier a few weeks ago.

The eight years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kim Kraft died last week at Cavalier.

Mrs. Albert Belisle died at the home of her father, L. Villenenve, near Bathgate.

Miss Elmira J. Stull and Mr. Cyrus Bechtel of Cavalier were married last week at the home of the bride.

Henry Hillier, living about six miles north of Walhalla, received a severe kick in the face from a horse lately, breaking the lower portion of the upper Jaw.

Mrs. Sarah Hart died at her residence in Drayton last week at the age of 87 years, she is survived by a husband and a family of eight children.

Mrs. Frank Jones of St. Thomas, a victim of typhoid fever, died at her home last week at the age of 50 years. She is survived by a sister and two brothers.

Miss Mary Jacobson of St. Thomas died at the Hillsboro hospital last week from typhoid fever. Miss Jacobson was 27 years old. She was born in Norway and had been in the county eight years.

At the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Chambers, three and a half miles east of Hamilton, Miss Margaret B. Chambers and Mr. Edward F. Hamilton were united in marriage. The Pioneer Express Pembina ND. October 30, 1908


Farmhouse Burns
The dwelling of Gideon Martineau on his farm near Leroy was burned to the ground last week. No one was on the place at the outbreak of the fire. There is some insurance. The Pioneer Express January 8, 1909

Wedding - Lee - Severtson
On Dec. 31, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Severtson of St. Thomas, occurred the wedding of Miss Tillie Severtson to Albert Lee.  Only the immediate friends were present at the ceremony. The Pioneer Express January 8, 1909

Wedding - Rowcliffe - Carman
A very quiet home wedding was solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents Mr. and Mrs. M. Carman of Drayton, on Christmas day, when Miss Mabel Carman became the wife of Mr. J. T. Rowcliffe of Portland. The bride was gowned in crepe dechene over taffeta silk.  Mr. and Mrs. Rowcliffe will make their future home at Eagle Creek, Oregon, a suburb of Portland.
