Griggs county seat is Cooperstown.  Cooperstown was founded in 1882. It is the closest town to the Sibley Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
The cities of Griggs County are Binford, Cooperstown, and Hannaford unincorporated communities are Jessie, Sutton and Karnak.
